As the festivities wound down on the Nationals, the group from BSB parted into two groups. The first group departed Sunday around 1pm CST and headed for home. Despite warnings from Nationals veterans about it always raining on the drive home (EVERY YEAR!), Dave didn't believe it. Sure enough the first group to head for home got it. Now Dave's a believer. Time to get that soft top and doors?
There are several events coming up this fall. Many area Car Shows and Festivals will give members a chance to show off their rigs. There will also be a fellow out-of-town Binder owner coming to Missouri to compete in GUMBO 4x4 Mud Races in Washington, MO on October 5. John Comer of Gryphin Racing in Aurora, CO will be bringing his Chevy powered Scout II "Banshee" to the event. As of this printing, some club members will be in attendance at the event. There is a 'Pit Party' prior to the race where fans can get up close to the drivers and their rigs. Stop by and say 'Hi' to John.
There is also a "pop-up" run being organized by Dave Payton and Kent Cunningham for the weekend of September 21. More info is available by getting in contact with them. The group will be meeting at Hazel Creek Campground in Palmer, MO on the 20th. Fall is a beautiful time in southern Missouri. Get out and enjoy some cool weather camping and trail riding. See the Events section for more information.
Lastly, October 11-14 is the 3rd Annual IH Sunflower IH Reunion in Junction City, KS. The is the last regional IH only show in the area this year. Scout/Lightline vendors, vehicle games, show'n shine and off-roading (at Tuttle Creek OHV area) are all included. Junction City is approximately 6.5 hrs. from St. Louis, or about 2.5 hrs. from Kansas City. BSB will be making a small donation to help offset some of the show's expenses. If you are planning on attending, dress for warm days and cool nights. Camping is available on site or if you want to "rough it", Motel 6 is the host hotel. A small block of rooms have been set aside for the show attendees.
